We are currently seeking a Global eLearning Specialist in our Washington, DC office. This position is responsible for the development, production, and introduction of multimedia based learning, including online courses, videos, podcasts, interactive learning challenges, etc. A successful candidate will use his/her experience to provide innovative training solutions to the firm's expanding training and development program.

Your responsibilities as the Global eLearning Specialist will include applying your abilities to develop productive relationships with all levels of our organization to accomplish these and other critical functions:

Act as a training and consulting resource regarding interactive multimedia instructional technology and multimedia courseware.
Develop multimedia training programs by analyzing the learning needs and goals of the audience and utilize the appropriate technology.
Identify training needs / issues, and provide innovative training solutions.
Create, develop, and design training material for use in various settings (e.g., online, classroom, presentation, video, podcasts, interactive games, etc.).
Implement eLearning methods/solutions through LMS and Web technologies.
Coordinate resources and activities related to instructional design, course production, course revisions, course development, and online teaching techniques, as well as standards for development.
Work with the Technology department to maintain and enhance the LMS (e.g., uploading new courses, testing new functionality, point releases, etc.)
Develop evaluative tools for the assessment of training needs and products. Measure transfer of learning and training impact by creating and implementing multi-level evaluations. Evaluate training materials to ensure they achieved the desired goals.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Latham & Watkins values versatility and adaptability in our high paced, collaborative environment. You will be expected to apply your organizational skills, communication skills and attention to detail to meet multiple deadlines while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. You must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Instructional Design. An ideal candidate should have five (5) years of related Instructional Design experience using established methodologies with all stages of the instructional design process, including needs assessment, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation; demonstrated experience in designing training for/with technology-assisted instruction (CBT, web-based training, authoring tools and related software for the purpose of producing multimedia training packages); expert knowledge in eLearning authoring tools including Captivate, Flash and graphics programs such as Photoshop or Fireworks among others.


The candidate must also have strong knowledge of and proven proficiency in adult learning principles, outstanding communication skills in all media, ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus and strong analytical skills with minimal supervision needed.
