Recovery Networks

Company Overview

Recovery Networks combines technologies which provide secure, encrypted off-site data backup with technologies that provide Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery capabilities. With this suite of complimentary services, Recovery Networks eliminates the need for a number of independent vendors.

We have joined together a number of licensed technologies to create a comprehensive suite of services that offer complete solutions for today’s businesses using today’s technologies. This is what makes Recovery Networks different.

Recovery Networks was formed in response to a void in the disaster recovery industry. While others offer cold-site services and off-site data storage, these are mostly self-service and very unrefined solutions which don’t take advantage of the latest technology.

Disaster recovery services from the best-known providers in this industry continue to be essentially equipment and facilities rental. Also, tape backups (while the packaging has changed) still use the same old oxide-based media to store data. In short, these services haven’t changes much in several decades.

What’s worse, these other solutions are disconnected services provided by separate companies that are not systematically integrated.

Advantages of our solution:

DATA STORAGE

Data is stored off-site, immediately without human intervention.
Data is transmitted and secured in an encrypted format with user-selected encryption keys.
Data is stored in multiple locations for maximum redundancy.
Data is stored on redundant media rather than on a single tape media.
Data is stored off-site and a copy of the latest data is also kept on-site for fast restores.

COMPLIANCE

Recovery Networks solutions comply with HIPAA, FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley and other federally-mandated regulations.

SOLUTIONS

Recovery Networks solutions can be either self-managed or turnkey.
RecoverNet provides recovery for a full disaster where an entire facility is destroyed.
RecoverNet provides recovery for situations where just one of many servers fails.

Services

OUR SERVICES
We offer two core services that provide protection and survivability to your data and IT systems, no matter what causes them to fail:

BackupNet performs daily backups of data to an off-site location where the data is vaulted in an encrypted, compressed format. For computers on a full T1 Internet connection, the typical backup of just 10GB of data would take approximately 18 hours. With the BackupNet technology, backing up a 10GB database can take as little as a few minutes. A primary benefit for geographically dispersed computer systems, both backup and restore operations can be managed from a single location.

RecoverNet is the perfect compliment to BackupNet. The problem with any backup recovery operation is that there is an underlying assumption that you will have a computer to which you can restore your data. If an individual server fails—or your entire data center is disabled—having backup tapes will do you no good.

You’ll first need to replace or restore hardware before you can make use of the backup. And, if you’re using traditional backup technology, you’d better make sure that your replacement hardware is close to identical to your original, or you’ll have endless configuration issues.

This is what makes RecoverNet such a powerful and flexible system. We resolve these issues by immediately restoring (at LAN speeds) the disabled computer(s) to an isolated computing environment where the computer will have its original name, IP address, disk structure, and, moreover, the same applications. Once restored, the computer system(s) are then connected to any other servers, desktop PCs, and LANs via VPN or other remote access facility.

OUR FACILITIES
Recovery Networks’ primary data center is located within a 20,540 square foot, $16 million state-of-the-art facility.

The infrastructure of the eight-story building is well-suited to accommodate the communication and Internet-reliant services provided by Recovery Networks. The building features dual telecom riser closets, dual power risers, a ground floor telecom service demark room with diverse fiber entrances from separate sides of the building and the provision for roof top communications equipment.

Infrastructure features include 2000 KVA electrical service provided by dual power feeds and dual transformers from diverse PECO Energy substations and dedicated building and facility electrical generators. The space has been customized to include biometric security measures, 24-by-7 monitoring, N+1 redundant systems, multi-level fire detection and suppression, a network operations center and enhanced environmental controls.

Connectivity Options:
Recovery Networks has multiple carrier options at its facility. While the majority of traffic travels over a single carrier connection, Recovery Networks has the option to support access from multiple carriers. This neutral co-location business model provides assurance in business continuity through redundancy and diversity of options. Here are but a few of the Telecommunications carriers available to Recovery Networks facility:

AboveNet
Cogent Communications
Internap
PPL Telecom
Verizon
Yipes Communications

Optimal Security:

24/7 security management via the Security Operations Center (SOC)
Remote camera monitoring 24/7, backed by digital recordings on file for 45 days
Access to equipment area 24/7 days via card key and pass code only
